Inside Look At The Top•Down Planner - Part 1 of 3

Are you wondering how to get the most use out of your Top•Down Planner? If so, you’re in luck, as this week on our Youtube channel and right here on our blog, we’ll be breaking down each section of the Top•Down Planner, and we'll be discussing how to get the most out of your planning methods so you can live a happier life.

The Top•Down Planner comes in three sections:

Section 1: Goal Planning

Section 2: Weekly and monthly planning pages

Section 3: Toolkit

Not only are these sections easy to use, but also they’re highly effective in creating happiness in your life. For this post, however, we’re going to be going over the first section, which is the goal planning section.

Why I Created the Top•Down Planner

There are countless planners on the market, but not a single one helps you construct what you want to accomplish this year. Also, none of the other planners on the market help you with deciding what you want to do in your lifetime or help you decide what your values are.

There actually is a happiness formula in our lives. This formula is composed of spending your time honoring your values on a daily basis. So if we want to be as happy as we possibly can, then we need to honor our values.

A Need To Rethink The Ordinary Planner

No planner on the market addresses this vital component of realizing your values. It was obvious we needed to rethink the typical planner.

So two years ago, I set out to create Top•Down Planner with one thing in mind; to start the Top•Down Planner with the essential part of being happy and successful, which means figuring out our values and creating goals for ourselves.

The goal planning section of Top•Down Planner comes in three very important pages. Don’t worry, though, as these three pages are simple, fun and easy to use.

The 3 Pages of Top•Down Planner’s Goals Section:

  1. Introduction:

The introduction comes with a message along with a quote. From here, the next page goes straight into the values page, which asks the most powerful question, “Who are you?”

This page walks you through why determining your values, figuring out what they are and why it’s so important to have your values written down.

After this, the page gives you a simple and quick five-minute exercise that helps you connect with you. The exercise is a single page that lists a series of values, and you’ll proceed by circling the values that are most important to you.

It’s so important to figure out your values before you do any type of planning. The reason being, anytime you set out a goal that doesn’t really honor your values, it’s just going to push you farther away from the things that truly make you happy.

  1. Write Your Future

Where do you want to be in one year, ten years and twenty years? This section helps you create this roadmap to your happiness and success. This single page comes with a series of questions including, “where do you want to live” and “how do you help your community?”

Asking yourself these questions and mapping them out in different stages in your lifetime helps you start to visualize what you truly want in your life. This part begins helping you put your goals into perspective.

This timeline is so unique and there is absolutely nothing else even similar on the market or in any type of planner.

  1. Goal Planner Page

The final page of this section is the goal-planning page. After you’ve written your values and projected what you want in your lifetime, this is the part where you narrow it all down to that one goal.

That one goal that you can’t stop thinking about and you just have to get started on today. Top•Down Planner walks you through how to actually make that goal a reality.

The Top•Down Planner not only asks you, “Why you want to do this goal,” and “how you’ll feel once you’ve reached this goal,” but it asks you, “how much time are you willing to spend on making this goal a reality.”

This is where so much goal planning falls short. People say there are things that they want to get done in their lives, but yet, they never look at their schedule and say, “How much time am I willing to dedicate to reach this goal?”

This is just a glance at Top•Down Planner’s first section. Again, this section is so powerful, life changing, and simple to use. This first section is just a tip of what makes the Top•Down Planner so much more effective than the typical planner.

Thanks so much and here’s to your goals and happiness,
